


Following her retirement she bought a retired show horse, “Nut N Honey” a Tennessee Walker.

Ann also served two weeks in New Iberia, Louisiana in 2005 following Hurricane Katrina.Īnn enjoyed gardening and reading. This was the most challenging and emotional experience of her career and she was awarded a NYS Senate Liberty Award. In 2001 she served in Thibodaux, Louisiana following a flood and in September 2001 she served in New York City for two weeks following the 9/11 attack on the World Trade Towers, counseling families of the missing. In 1990 Ann opened her own counseling business in her home, operating for 23 years.Īnn volunteered for the American Red Cross as a Mental Health Technician. teaching psychology classes, Orleans County Nursing Home as Social Work Director and Medina Hospital’s Behavioral Unit as Senior Social Worker. Her social work experience included Medina Hospital Home Health Care Program, Batavia Mental Health Clinic, Orleans County Mental Health Clinic as Clinic Coordinator, Rainbow Preschool as Play Therapist, Adjunct Instructor at G.C.C. She graduated in 1988 and later became a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. She worked at Catholic Charities in Batavia for one year as a counselor when she was accepted as an accelerated student in the Social Work Master’s Degree Program at the University of Buffalo. While there she was awarded the Outstanding Adult Student Award. Ann then attended Brockport State College full-time and graduated in 1986 with a BS in Social Work. In 1972 Ann began working for Orleans County Head Start program as a preschool teacher, home visitor and Education Coordinator. In 1969 Ann began attending classes part-time at Genesee Community College graduating in 1983 along with her eldest son. She especially enjoyed having lunch with her grandchildren and babysitting for her great-grandchildren. Together they had three sons.Īnn enjoyed being a wife and mother and took the roles very seriously. Reigle, a neighborhood young man she’d known since she was 11 and he was 13.
